Retired nurse had a bathroom-mobility problem due to changes in her balance. DeBow Home Remodeling removed the old tub and tile, also removed a cabinet, flooring and brick chimney to increase floor space and create a STEP IN SHOWER with a folding wall-seat and storage shelf. We reduced the size of the window in the shower to increase privacy. She LOVES the neutral, easy to clean tiles, recessed shampoo shelf and the easy access now that she doesn't have to climb over the tub in her first-floor bathroom. A low profile wall cabinet was added for storage, new floor and shower door. We framed so a grab bar and a hand-held sprayer can easily be added when needed. #beforeandaftertileshowercharlottesville
8 Bathroom Questions to Research before you call us:
11. When planning your new bathroom consider the layout function and how many "wet walls" with plumbing and drains will be needed.
One-Wall Layout
One-wall designs are the simplest and require the fewest plumbing fittings. That makes them the most inexpensive. Keep in mind, however, that design possibilities are limited with a one-wall layout, and floor space may not be used efficiently.
Two-Wall Layout or "L-shaped"
A design with plumbing in two adjacent walls offers more floor area and storage space around the sink. In a smaller bathroom, especially, it may be worth the extra cost.
Three-Wall Layout
These designs offer the greatest flexibility, but they require more complex and expensive plumbing, as well as more floor space. It is expensive to move plumbing, drains and electrical to reconfigure a bathroom and adds to the length of your project so if you are in a hurry to sell your house consider keeping the tub and bathroom layout and ask your Realtor’s input about priorities for resale.
